After today’s slice and dice session Mehdi asked how I felt. “Holy” I replied. “Holier than thou. Holy, geddit?”
I got a second chortle for the morning. He had liked my earlier slice and dice comment too.
“I’ve clipped your bird’s wing” he said, referring to my frigate bird tattoo. “It might lose more yet.”
I know that lesion was one that worried him. If I am lucky it will only require a simple excision in the surgery. If it is what he suspects he may have to refer me to a surgeon. So I was not surprised when he called off any more slicing until the results of the first five excavations come back. It’s really just that one he wants to know about. Tomorrow we shall continue with the skin check. There is still my head, neck, back, torso, legs and so forth to examine. Poor bugger. He is so meticulous, it is a slow process.
Friday the thirteenth. No slashing. My lucky day.
