Pullet Surprise

Whenever the Pullet Surprise is announced someone calls fowl. Like when Pearl Buck Buck Buck Buck won in 1932. Only six years later she was nobbled for her rich and truly stir frying descriptions of Chinese pheasant recipes. Or something like that. It was a long time ago. I forget. So it is hardly surprising that when the 2020 awards shortlist was announced, this blog was not among the nominees. Yet Star Wars: The Bantam Menace was. Or not. It doesn’t seem fair. Or even sensible. I don’t know where I was going with this. I had a paltry list of puns to pursue but it faded away after I woke up. I blame the painkillers.
